Rep. Robert L. Brown is a Democrat in the SC House of Representatives. He is running for re-election after serving 14 years representing District 116 which encompasses the western portion of Charleston County and the southeastern portion of Colleton County.
He earned his A.S. degree from Trident Technical College and is a graduate of the Charleston Southern University Entrepreneur Program and the Barber College of Charleston. He is a retired nuclear submarine electrical system inspector, a businessman, owner of RLB Development, LLC and a Vietnam veteran.
He serves on the Sea Island Comprehensive Health Care Corporation board of directors, is a member of the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., and has served as councilman, planning and zoning commissioner and chairman of the Economic Development Committee for the town of Hollywood.
Rep. Brown sits on the Education and Public Work Committee as first vice-chairman and is a member of the Invitation and Memorial Resolution Committee. His assigned subcommittees are K-12 Education and Transportation.
